I first dealt with this company via eBid. This company main sells IT products. When I first saw their iPads, their pricing was unbelievable. It cost only $549 AUD for a 16Gb 3G iPad and AUD $899 for a 64 Gb 3G iPad with shipping included. So I went on to purchase 2 from them, one 16Gb and one 32Gb. This was paid via paypal.
I then further purchase another 3 more iPads with him, all 64Gb. Did so because his communication was excellent and he has all the necessary information. He even has his business registered and has a valid ACN. His website was also very convincing (it is still up, please go see it yourself).
Everything looks good until you start probing about shipment. He starts to cook up reasons that it will be delayed due to their high order volume. It took me 3 weeks to receive my first shipment. With only 1 out of my 5 iPads arriving. When asked when are my other iPads coming, he replied it will be sent a week later. To cut the story short, it's been a week after the supposedly final shipment date and I have yet to receive my items or tracking number and the seller now ceases all contacts.
This is really a well-planned scam. If you google "mitel", the first result that will come out is a communication MNC which bears the same name. The worst thing is that in one of the emails, the Managing Director, "Adam Kucbicki", even suggested links to the MNC:
"For example, we, MITEL Pty Ltd also supplies Mobile Phone, Home
Phone, ADSL and Wireless Broadband services to Australia using outbound call
centres in India for customer acquisition. We outsource telemarketers to
India because it is cheaper than using Australian telemarketers. We make a
reasonable margin from telecommunications but for a sustainable business to
grow and succeed, it is necessary to keep costs low.
We ship from these destinations to our office in Australia and sell as
Australian stock because from a wholesale perspective, it is a retail,
(MITEL) product, not the wholesalers."
If he ever asked you to pay via Moneybookers or Wired Transfer, DON'T do so. I've used Moneybookers for one of my 5 transactions and now, it seems like it is almost impossible for me to retrieve my money. Here's what Moneybookers replied after I've filed a complaint:
"The transaction has been successfully processed on our end and, unfortunately, the money has already left our system and we are no longer able to retrieve the funds. We apologise.
Such regular send money transactions are final and irreversible. "
Whatever the case, I will fight till the end to get my money back! Just wondering why the internet is filled with such people. It makes people lose trust in each other. Anyone who shared similar experience, feel free to add in.
