1. I had a kitchen tap leak emergency on Sunday 7.1.12. Neither of my two regular plumbers could attend to it so I called Waterwize emergency plumbing services

2. Steve Papadopoulos fixed the leak on that day

3. His colleague Billy fixed Steve’s work on 11.1.12 as there was still a problem

4. More water problems occurred throughout April. One of my regular plumbers took off the tap covers to investigate and showed me water dripping in the wall cavity behind the right tap. In his opinion, this was still part of the problem that Steve and his colleague fixed and suggested I call them for another repair recall. Not only that but he assured me that the water dripping since the last repair was responsible for completely saturating a wooden panel inside the kitchen sink cupboard, which was now rotting away. As well as affecting some cutlery drawers and another piece of wood that fell off inside the sink cupboard. My second regular plumber subsequently agreed with this assessment

5. When I called Steve in April, he was willing to send someone to look at the tap. When I requested that he also repair the water damage to the wooden panel and the drawers, he informed me “he wasn’t going to replace my whole kitchen”. Even though it is an old kitchen, it had been renovated less than 2 years earlier and there was never one problem with it until the tap leak

6. The dripping fault behind the wall was subsequently fixed. Since April, Steve promised a number of times to also fix the damage. He came to my house in August, after I informed him that I was taking the matter to the Dept of Fair Trading, took a number of unauthorised photos of my entire kitchen and informed me again “he wasn’t going to replace my whole kitchen”

7. His justification - in his own words:
I have no more time to give you in regards to your wear and tear of your kitchen.

Everyone that has seen your kitchen has agreed with me including your own plumber and real estate. I have all the photos that reflect the problem with your kitchen.

What are you trying to achieve here? Be realistic your whole kitchen requires repairing as per everyone that has seen it.

There is enough evidence that your kitchen repairs are required due to wear and tear and not from any plumbing work that was performed

8. Steve related the above story to Dept of Fair Trading which was unable to resolve it

9. Steve’s latest customer complaint resolution:

I will also let all trades know what you have tried to get out of a plumber that came out and replaced a couple of taps in the kitchen.

You should be embarrassed of what you are trying to achieve.

I have plenty of evidence and photos to counteract your stupid complaints.

I guess we will be meeting again soon.

10. I will NEVER use Steve’s or his colleague’s services again. And yes, I’ll be seeing him next in the Consumer Tribunal Court!
