Like many thousands of people over the world I had an unauthorized withdrawal from my bank account by Nortons Antivirus Automatic Renewal System. The amount I was charged $99.99 Australian. I tried ringing the Nortons 1800 numbers but only got automated choices which did not suit the nature of my call. I looked up Symantec's web site and found contact numbers for Australia in Sydney and Melbourne. I rang and was answered by a real person, who then put me through to someone who could help me, a person situated at a help desk in India (I'm waiting to see what that call cost me!!!) This guy did help with a refund and to take me off Nortons' Automatic Renewal System. I was given a case number and told to wait 2 to 3 working days for the refund to appear in my account, I will post the results on this site. My concern is how much money is Nortons (Symantec) making off this scam of Automatic Renewals, how many people/companies do not pick this unauthorized withdrawal up? Nortons take money from your account and then it cost you money to rectify their scam.
