My mother passed away suddenly on 17th January. She had been approved a room in a nursing home and was not happy with the bed. After being told she could get a new bed we ordered one from harvey norman. A week or so later mum was told she could not get a new bed but she could get a new mattress. We contacted the company and they said they would change the order and it would take some time to have a mattress made. Within 3 or 4 days my mother died suddenly from a heart attack. She had paid for everything. We rang and told the store what had happened and they said we could get a refund. I went into the store a few days later and was given all but $80 refund. When I asked about the $80 dollars I was told it was a cancellation fee. When I asked about the circumstances for the refund I was told "I am trying to run a business" I then asked if the mattress got made because of the short time from the order to the cancellation and was told "the order went in." The money we got has been put into my Fathers account as he is also in a nursing home with dementia. When I think about this I get very angry and hurt. My parents worked hard all their lives and mum would have been very upset to think that a big company like Harvey Norman needed HER $80 more than my Dad.
