I have a serious complaint about the following organisation in Victoria:

MY STORY:
I dropped off a jumper at the above organisation for dry cleaning recently, and received an invoice with a fee/charge for the dry cleaning service.
When I subsequently returned to collect the garment, I immediately noticed the following defects:
1) The material of the jumper was damaged - instead of being smooth, it was heavily "pilled";
2) At least 50 percent of the trimming that was originally attached/sewn on to the bottom of the garment (trimming was a part of the garment when purchased) had been torn or ripped off;
3) About 25 percent of the trimming around the sleeve cuffs had also been torn or ripped off (again, trimming was an original part of the garment);
4) There were clear iron-shaped marks near the front collar of the jumper.
I asked the dry cleaning attendant what had happened, and she said that she wasn't sure. I decided not to pay for the service, and left the garment over night so that I could speak to a Manager at the organisation the next day.
Accordingly, the following day, I rang up and asked to speak to the Manager or Owner. The person who picked up my phone was another attendant. I asked if the Owner, and if this person, the attendant, had actually seen the state of my jumper. The attendant said, yes, that both he and the Owner had seen the jumper. He also stated THAT INSTEAD OF BEING DRY CLEANED, AS I HAD CLEARLY REQUESTED AND AS ACKNOWLEDGED SHOULD BE DONE BY THE ORGANISATION (AS EVIDENCED BY THE ORGANISATION INVOICING ME FOR DRY CLEANING SERVICES FOR THE JUMPER), ONE OF THEIR STAFF MEMBERS HAD WASHED MY JUMPER IN A WASHING MACHINE!!! THE JUMPER HAD ALSO SUBSEQUENTLY BEEN IRONED WITH A STANDARD IRON.
This treatment accounted for the torn trimmings and pilled presentation of what was once a perfectly good jumper.
I intend to seek compensation from the Owner or Organisation on the following grounds:
1) My instructions that the jumper be DRYCLEANED were clearly not followed;
2) The organisation billed me for a DRYCLEANING service, when that service was in fact not provided.
