Territory Dry Cleaners... Don't Use Them Unless You Want Your Clothes RUINED!!
I used this company and will share my experience with you.
I took a BRAND NEW pair of pants there to be pressed only, as I had bought them interstate and they had been creased in the suitcase on the flight back to Alice. After dropping them off and stressing I ONLY wanted them pressed I returned a few days later to find them completely ruined. After being told by the owner of the business that "they were like that when I dropped them off", I spoke with the lady who was working when I dropped them off. She confirmed they were absolutely not like that when I dropped them off and that she wouldn't have accepted them if they were. After the owner heard her say this, to my shock and horror he began abusing me and telling me that the pants were never meant to be dry cleaned, the tag on the pants was wrong and I should never have brought them in in the first place. After checking the tag myself I rang the store in Sydney where I bought the pants. They said they certainly were dry cleanable and to send them to them for "testing" at a local lab. They tested positive to a "wet wash" which was clearly warned against on the "care tag". After getting another mouthful of abuse from the foul mouthed business owner, I went to fair trading. Once I walked in and showed him the pants he said "Oh no, not the dry cleaner again!!". He then informed me that he gets several complaints about him each week and would gladly forward the complaint on to him but "he would probably get a staff member to lie" as he had done before. Sure enough, an email was sent back to fair trading, just as predicted by the goverment representative, full of lies and accusing me of being a liar and swearing at him, when in fact it was the complete opposite.
This guy is obviously a career liar and conman who destroys clothes on a regular basis and accuses everyone else of wrong doing. Since I have told this story to a few people around town, it has become very clear to me that I was no "orphan". I have met many people who have experienced similar things with this creep. There is another dry cleaner on Elder St... I encourage EVERYONE in Alice to start using them, otherwise you will almost definately experience similar eventually.
Contact fair trading yourselves and ask if you doubt me.
I have also lodged a complaint with the Dry Cleaners Association and again, they had heard similar stories about him and were investigating.
