I went to the website of 'Troy the Locator' as I had been looking for my Grandfather who was an American Marine in WW2 stationed in Samoa. I had been looking for many years with no luck. I left an e-mail through the website. July. I was promptly contacted by 'Searc Quest America' Who I told the small amount of information I had. I was assured by Jill Bello that they would be able to find him and that if they couldn't 'No one could'. I paid over $600.I had a case worker who more or less just told me to do all the things I had already done in my search ie contact military records. I was unsure if the first name I had was his actual name or perhaps nickname or middle name as I had found nothing with the first name I had. Aug-sep Robert said he had 2 possibilities (both of which were Army) Sent several unanswered e-mail as to what was happening no reply
25 April Sent e-mail to Jill Bello to try to find out what was happening?
22 Aug E-mail from Julie Jones saying she is now on the case as Robert no longer works there. A few e-mail as I had to go over the whole thing again, mostly correcting the misinformation she had about my case.
27 Sep 2011 Julie has found a John D Bland in NY - Wasn't even a Marine.
8 Jan I send her an e-mail that goes unanswered asking if it's possible to get list of Marine stationed in Samoa WW2
8 April Send Jill same e-mail with same question - unanswered.

24 Feb FINALLY GET REPLY saying it's all my fault as they didn't have the correct first name. I let her know that I joined ancestry.com for $40 and searched the muster records (last June) where I found there was only ONE Marine stationed in Samoa at the correct time. I had contacted the family and it was my Grandpa. That I managed to do what her 'team of experts' failed to do with $600 and 2 1/2 years. I feel they never looked at all and looking around the internet there are a few people with unhappy experiences with Troy the Locato
