I got scammed today on the Northern Beaches in Sydney Australia. I was out the front of my house doing some gardening and this guy pulls up in a red rental car. He asked if I had a minute and I agreed.
I went over and talked to him, he was quite worried that I still had my chainsaw in my hand (wish I had of used it as more of a scare tactic now!). He gave me a similar spiel to everyone else. "Back from a Convention in Chatswood (to which I wondered why he was in my area as it was away from the airport), had to sell his stuff before he left for the airport. Good quality etc etc."
He showed me his passport and everything. I started to wonder what was going on, as with everyone else I dont even wear leather jackets, I'm a Uni student I was just looking to make a quick buck. The dollar signs were going in my head when he said worth $1500, worth $1500.
So I got some cash together with my brother thinking this could be a short term investment to sell them. We paid $AUS 500 for 8 jackets. So we were thinking quick $300 profit each at least on these. Until he drove off and I Googled "Repetage" and found this website. I was absolutely kicking myself, but my brother has assured me that we could still knock them off. We'll see...
