My Partner had a Credit Card Debt with Amex. A few years ago Global Vantedge took over the Collection. He was on an interest free payment plan. Due to a nasty ex wife & long costly court battle he ended up in severe credit debt. During our years I have had a Brain Tumor & Colo-rectal Cancer as well as other health issues meaning I could not work & contribute as much. Global Vantedge called almost daily demanding monies. My partner would have to keep repeating himself constantly. He lost a job over them constantly calling him at work & harrassing him for hours at a time. You could not understand what they were saying & even though you new it was the same person, they would keep using a different name & say he had to tell them the story again. When my partner tried to explain my illness to one of the Global Vantedge personnel they actually said & I quote, " Well that will be good Sir if she dies cause then you will be compensated & you will be able to payout your debt with Amex. " My partner was Shocked by this & deeply upset that Any person could say something like this. We put up with this for over 5 years. MyPartner got a call a few months ago from them again only this time it was worse. We received a letter & a call. When he called them back they said that ALL the Interest for those years had been put back on & Back dated & that all the monies ($10, 500 AUS) he had paid had made no difference & demanded he pay $22, 272.11. This was the starting amount in 2006. These are the kinds of thing we kept getting almost daily. Another company has taken over & we are yet to see what they will do as they say that the only information they have is My partners Account & Phone Number. All other details were years old & incorrect. Global Vantedge aparently DID Not pass on any of the correspondence for the years that they harrassed us about this debt. We have been asked to forward copies of all correspondence we have to them. Another major cost to us.
