Booked a holiday through the website for Club Med and paid the deposit via a credit card which a 1.5% service fee is charged. To avoid an additional service fee charge when final payment was due, contacted the sales dept and advised that we would make a direct deposit into their a/c.A/c details were given to us to allow this to happen along with our booking reference number, so they could allocate the funds correctly. Two days later, contacted the Sales dept to confirm that payt was rec'd and that everything was in order. Confirmation that the booking was indeed paid for and that etickets would be sent out shortly afterwards. SHOCK HORROR, when our creditcard bill arrived, we had been debited final payt amt along with a fee. Contacted Club Med advising what had taken placed and asked for a refund. To date (over 2 weeks) no one is willing to process this refund. Asked to speak to a supervisor, never was going to happen. Next means of attack is to let everyone else know to be careful when booking club med trips. Now need to lodge this complaint with Consumer Affairs Dept in Australia. Times are tough financially, so being out of pocket is not pleasant. Needed this holiday to be stress free, as recently had deaths in the family plus recently recovering from a serious operation.
Not impressed.
