I would like to write this report in the hope that no-one will ever bring there Dog in to this grooming salon again.
I worked for Silver poodle for nine months, and they were the most horrible nine months of my life. The owner of the salon took over from a previous owner and at the start was nice to work with.
Gradually over the months she began to turn moody and I saw a different person.
She was the most un- affectionate lady with the dog's and I was most disturbed by several things I saw. The normal routine was the owner's brought the animals in between 8-9am. The owner never offered them water or even went to give them a toilet run even though some of these dogs were there for eight hours.
As it was just myself and her, I would attend to the grooming and trying to make sure the animals were okay. On many occassions the dogs would not like the grooming and play up having it done. The owner would call them ass-holes when these poor dogs were only in fear of been groomed. Also on other occasions she wrapped tape over the dogs mouths as she seemed to think this was an okay method as it stopped them barking.
The most hearbreaking thing of all was when this lady told me she had hit a dog in the nose in her previous job as the dog had bitten her.
Everyday I would come home from this job crying and upset as I believed these dog's do not deserve this.
I suffered an extreme amount of anxiety and panic attacks due to a lack of breaks and a normal work atmosphere. I left in february and must say I'm alot happier since leaving the company. Some may ask why I didn't report this to the rspca?? and this reason is I was a mess leaving this job and my anxiety had reached a peak because of this job.
I did go on the word of web mouth web site and try to warn people about this place, but the employer had written a nasty comment about me been a disgruntled past employee.
I needed to voice this for so long, not for myself but for these dog's that go into this groomer everyday.
I hope anyone reading this will boycott Silver poodle
