I had a work accident in september.
I went to see a surgeon, as i have a lot of pain in my wrist as it was hyperextended.
After 2 quarterzone injections and a trip to the Alfred Hospital as the second injection 3 weeks after the first, i was given 2 vials into my wrist which caused a great deal of pain.
At the Alfred i was given about 8 shots of morphine and one of medaz to get rid of the pain after about 6 to 8 hours the pain went and i went home.
I then went and got a second opinion as i was sent to pain management clinic and the doctor there, was not interested in my work or life he just gave me more pills an antidepressant and that was it.
I then seen another surgeon and he said i required an operation being Ulna osteotomy shortening and debribement of a tear.
The surgeon sent the request to CGU and after 1 month there was no reply.
I rang CGU and they said they were going to ask the surgeon for more information guess what it never happened.
I then took CGU to conciliation and they were told by the officer there to ask my first surgeon if he agreed to the operation.
Once again they never did this, so i was sent to the Medical Panel in Melbourne.
After enduring rudeness and pain from the rhuematoligist there, they stuffed up my report and the answer was no.
I contacted a lawyer and he said i could take them to the supreme court, but that is out of the question as this costs $50,000 to do this.
I got in touch with Rudd (our prime minister) who passed this problem to Brumby who then passed this to the minister for TAC and work cover and they said get it done through medicare.
Guess what you can not do this as it is not accepted.
So now 15 months on and i am left with the use of 1 hand only and told i cannot sue as the medical panels bungle would not allow for permanent impairment.
So i am stuck with 3 wage drops lost my car and job with no help from anybody.
