Anyone who is seriously thinking about becoming a Pegboard partner needs to know that this product involves more than just basic knowledge of html and css. Pegboard sells their cms program as a designers edge. I am a designer with basic knowledge of both css and html and was unable to use Pegboard after paying $1, 500.00 to become a partner. For my $1, 500.00 I was given a six hour online training course and I was able to use their tech support. However Pegboards tech people don't use Dreamweaver and are unfamiliar with how Dreamweaver works. They are very good back-end database technicians but if you are a designer using Dreamweaver that doesn't really help.
The Pegboard sales team makes their product sound like it is a Dreamweaver plugin and works seamless with the program. What Pegboard has are Dreamweaver snippets that you can apply into your code, and that is it. Once you build your html pages in Dreamweaver you have to break them down and add your snippets where ever you want your text, images, movies, etc to go in Pegboard. So what you are doing is building each page twice. Pegboard saves you no time and adds a lot of frustration. If you want to have Flash in your web site you better be good with RSS Feeds because you have to ad your Flash file with an RSS Feed. At least that is how Pegboard described it to me. I asked Pegboard for a refund of my money when I realized I would be unable to use their product and was denied. I asked them for a training manual to be sent to me that they give to their Australian and New Zealand partners and after three months it has not been sent. If you are a back-end programmer and really need a large high-tech cms then Pegboard might be for you, but for the average designer it is overkill and difficult to use. I do recommend other cms programs such as Wordpress, Cushy, or Surreal. They are all easy to use, and much less expensive.
