I paid for the Haul Truck training course through this college and was provided with a certificate/ticket (RIIMPO311A) for a course I have yet to complete.
The practical training outlined in the companies introduction letter on page two states that the trainee will receive practical training at a mine site, but it is not a mine site, only a block out of town where the Haul trucks are located.
It also states that the participants will learn how to operate a Haul Truck, operate a haul truck on ramps, operate a loaded haul truck, operate a haul truck while unloading. Yes, instruction was given on how to operate a Haul Truck, but not while loaded, being loaded, and unloading.
I still have not been instructed or taught these tasks to this day, yet I have a ticket that states I have completed these tasks.
The introduction letter also states that the participant will learn mine site safety principles and procedures. Yes, this is also taught.
My concern is that a certificate/ticket RIIMPO311A has been awarded and three of the most dangerous operations on a mine site still have not be taught,
*driving a loaded haul truck,
*unloading a haul truck, and
*driving on ramps with a loaded haul truck
These operations still have not been taught.
I have spoken to several people now who have the same concerns and experiences with this college.
If anyone else has had the same issues I would appreciate your feed back.
