Our wedding was on 6th March and we only just received our wedding album and digital files on 22 October.
When I first met Cathy Crawley from Beautiful Moments Photography, based in the Hills District she was very friendly, bubbly, easy going and seemed to be a fun loving kind of person. Cathy was easy to get along with and full of personality, her photographs on her blog site are stunning and albums that she shows are magnificent. Unfortunately on the day of our wedding she observed to be irritable, snappy at the bridal party and wedding guests and she just did not deliver 100% effort into our wedding. Some of the shots were beautiful as it was set in a Southern Highlands Winery but overall I was disappointed with her photography. She could have made more of an effort to take shots of our guests, instead she chose to just shoot the bridal party and I have had to rely on our wedding guests to give me a CD of all of their photos as we have a very limited number of guest shots.
Cathy Crawley shows a lack of customer service after the wedding. I found her to be unreasonable and unapproachable, she lacks communication with the client after the wedding so I was left feeling abandoned and confused with photo selection etc..
The client follow-up which I feel is an essential part of the post wedding service is non-existent and she prefers to do everything via computer so she doesn’t have to have face-to-face interaction. Her website states that she has a 'Boutique Studio' yet in one of her emails she stated, "I normally don't have clients come over to view their products, it's not part of my business policy". I needed assistance with photo selection for the album and enlargements for framing and not at any stage did Cathy Crawley endeavour to help me. It was in desperation one day that I demanded to meet with her in her'Boutique Studio' 4 months after the wedding to finalise album selection, etc... On that day it took half an hour to settle everything face-to-face and she said that the album would take 6 weeks. Well it actually took 12 weeks and a lot of emails in between.
In one of her emails she stated, "I have 100 clients to attend to, the ones who write nasty emails usually go to the bottom of the pile as looking at their files makes me physically sick". That was a response to an email I sent her in frustration asking what the delay was and it shouldn't take so long to wait for a wedding album in which all the photos were selected on 6th April.
In conclusion, I finally have my album that I am really happy with (7 1/2 mths later). What I am not happy with is the terrible customer service and lack of client follow-up along with the communication breakdown between Cathy Crawley and myself. I initiated every email as she never communicated with me re: timelines or what to expect. When I collected my album and digital files I told her what I thought of her service and how frustrated and disappointed I was in the whole experience. I told her some facts that she obviously didn't like and she then kicked me out of her home and verbally abused me whilst slamming the door in my face!!!
At no stage did she apologise for the delay in the album or for anything for that matter. I truly believe that Cathy Crawley from Beautiful Moments Photography thinks she did nothing wrong and she is not to blame for the hold up, therefore she doesn’t need to apologise to a disappointed client.
Cathy Crawley is an unprofessional wedding photographer with only 3 yrs experience and no customer service. This whole experience with her has saddened me and left me with little trust in the professional photographers out there.
