Windows Vista - Dell Computers

Just over a year ago I bought my first new computer. A Dell laptop loaded with windows Vista. All the others were shared. This was my first laptop and my first 'persoanl' computer.

The laptop had a faulty wirelss board and hard drive - out of the box faulty. Dell's service technicians were great and sorted it pretty quickly - but left me with the unstable software system they sold me and were unforthcoming when i asked for a solution to the problems i was expereiceng with the operating sytem i had bought from them.

Just over twelve months later I can say that the windows vista experience has been the worst, hands down the most miserable consumer experince of my life. And it will be a tall order to even get close in the future.
My warranty has now experied and i have a computer I can use and nobody gives a toss.

I am simply stunned that it is possible to market a product so bad and the consumer has no recourse but to just deal with it and the damage and expense related to getting it working.

Its not like I chose Vista - here in Australia you cant by a new laptop without it. Obviously the marketer already knows they are selling you something that doesnt work - so where is the solution, people? Where is the advise or notice that there will be work to be done?
Why are we left to fumble around for answers when it was already known that the operating system was an utter disaster?

Eight months, not days - Months - after registering that my computer was inoperable - from new - I received and loaded Service Pack One.
Since that day no AV software or basic AV fucntion has ever worked again - except Media Players basic play function. The sytem no longer crashes once a week but I can't download from my camera, I cant record an audio track and burn it to disk, I cant record a video and save it and retrieve it and open it and play it - cant burn it either. I cant even listen to a radio station. This is not complicated stuff, its pretty bloody basic work. I cant even record, store and come back to morrow, retrieve and play - all inside windows media player - it just cant do it, but fails in a diffrent way each time you attempt it.

A few weeks after the first service pack - Service Pack Two is supplied and downloaded, - now the Auoto Play function doesnt work at all and all driver software for any external application at all is blocked and/ or lost - except my printer. Only my printers drivers are accepted. Every single time i connect my wireless internet modum (Which was also faulty out of the box) I have to coax Vista into accepting it and then it works. Everytime, sometimes several times a day.

Microsoft obviously are aware that they have sold fault sowtware.

Why is Windows 7 not being made freely avaiable to the unfortunate consumers of Vista?

If they werent so unasailable I would be going for compensation for the hours and hours and hours spent retrieving, reloading and attempting to work with the shittiest software ever encountered - under warranty.

Windows Vista hands down the worst cosnumer expereince I have ever had by a country mile.

Level of satisfactin with product support experience - sub zero, guys - and still waiting for a functioning solution.

I would never ever ever ever recomend a windows product or service for any reason to any one at all, ever.
