On Saturday 8th October my 11 year old son and I flew from Darwin to Sydney flight JQ74.The flight was due to leave at 7.30am. We were held up due to luggage handling problems, the flight finally left just after 8am. Due to the earliness of our flight we were unable to have breakfast so I told my son we would get something on the plane. Not long after take off we were advised that Jetstar had changed it's policy and no longer accept cash for purchases on board. It seems they only accept credit card. I don't have a credit card... So there we were on a plane with 2 bottles of water and a packet of Allen's snakes to last us the 4hr journey. My son was so hungry he started to cry, and this in turn made me furious. It was my little boys birthday and the poor kid spent half of it on a Jetstar flight so hungry that he was crying. Shame on Jetstar, I find this policy discriminatory. Why should people with credit cards get fed on a plane and people with cash not. I wil never fly Jetstar again...
