I had trouble with my ankles & feet they were swollen for 2 days when I arrived in Melbourne on Wednesday 6th June as I was sitting in a seat with not much leg room at all!!We contacted the airline just before my return journey & was told to check in as early as possible. I did this but when my baggage was weighed it was 5kg over so the check in desk girl said to take stuff out, I didn't want to leave anything behind, and also was worried I would lose my seat for better leg room. I went & paid £280 aus.dollars which I thought was really costly. I boarded my flight & was talking to a fellow passenger & she had been in the same prediciment as me but with more excess baggage! she was told to put her stuff in another bag was given one by check in staff which she did & carried that on as hand luggage so wasn't charged anything. I find this so unfair if I'd been informed properly & was guarnanteed my seat still I would've opened up my luggage & done this, but I couldn't take the chance of losing that seat & being in the state I was in when I came over!!This has never happened to me before on flight! Flight details are: EK409 Melbourne to Dubai 02.40am then EK019 Dubai to Manchester 19th June. I hope you can give me some compensation for the amount I have had to pay out it was quite a shock to me, & would think twice about travelling with Emirates again!
