Telpacific
International phone card-never worked

Hi
I would like to register my dissatisfaction with Telpacifics phone card services and their addition to my growing belief that these cards generate these companies income under false pretenses. This is my 3rd purchase of a phone card and the 2nd time they have rendered useless.

Of course, the purchase price of the cards works in your favour. Most people, as I did with the 2nd card, would consider a $10 loss not bad enough to pursue the matter with their so called 'customer (no) service' team.

I spoke to (name withheld but will gladly provide) today, who has been skillfully trained in the art of not solving customer complaints. I was told that I 'should' have called the minute i knew that my phone card was not working.
Trouble is, i did not know for sure and secondly, what difference does that make?

James said that if I called earlier, my card would have been credited. How is that possible and what good is that if the card isn't working??

James said that since my card expired on April 11, and that since today is past the expiry date, there is nothing he can do. How is this possible? If I can call a number and have more money added to a card that doesn't work, what does an expiry date have to do with the powers of your customer service team to amend the issue. THE CARD DOESN'T WORK and never worked. Why does it matter WHEN i called??

Additionally, How will putting more money I my card solve anything?? No doubt, their terms and conditions will contain enough hogwash to render this complaint useless also.

I must have asked to speak to a supervisor/manager/superior a dozen times and was repeatedly told that there was no one available. This was no doubt untrue.

I understand the TIO received 906 complaints in the year to June and that your company has been taken to court for breaching the Trade Practices Act, and I'm sorry I was not aware of it sooner. However, from what I can observe, international phone cards are a risky purchase period.

I have requested that the company make a small investment of a WORKING $10 chatmore card to my postal address and that this would be a more appropriate response than the silence I am anticipating.
