CURVES fitness for women
No accountability, can not contact

After paying out in cash $184.00 and exercising at Curves fitness centre for women at the Magill Rd St Morris centre the result was injury to calf and also arm I believe from Curves total neglect to have the staff available (as the days I went it was usual to have only one person working who needs to be responsible for the desk and entry of persons coming and going phone and walk in inquiries and also the care and welfare of the women exercising. Each time I was there this person never took the time to take me through the exercises nor did I see her instruct any one else. The other person who showed me the premises and sold me on a sales pitch of how for the first two weeks that I start the exercise program there would be an instructor to monitor and instruct me on how to make use of the equipment, and also had me fill out a form with many boxes that one ticks that is relating to ones health making it look and feel as though Curves takes their clients seriously and is going to be responsible in making sure that your health, your state of fitness, your age, wow even your mental and emotional state is accounted for in this long listed questionaire you are ask to read carefully through and tick of in the appropriate boxes what is related to your personal being So that Curves can then give you the best help and instruction and care concerning how your exercise program is made special for you. ) I was told to take my heart rate in the next three days of exercise and they would need these counts of my heart rate before I exercise and after for them to access what was needed for you physically for your health and best performance. After been told to sit on or stand on each exercise equipment on my introduction day to Curves by a employee who told me what each piece of equipment did for you, and my stating that I would not remember a word likely said to me and wanted reasurance that a instructor would be readily available to show me how to use the equipment to explain and watch and make sure I was using them correctly as I had never done this before and told OH Yes there will of course be an instructor here with you each day for two weeks and even then there is always an instructor working with all of you women as you exercise every time you are here. We wouldn't leave you alone don't be silly. Thats the difference here at Curves. We make sure and take every effort to see that you are properly instructed with the equipment. It takes time to get used to how you do these things. That is why for the first two weeks as you were told someone is by your side helping you. Well on my first day of exercise this same smiling person walked past me and gave me lots of friendly smiles and nods of encouragement, after that I only saw her once again after this for the week I exercised there was only one staff who sat behind the reception desk whilst I went around the circle and either tried to copy what others were doing and when I finally did get this persons attention, and I will add here I was to believe she was the receptionist, and told her one of the equipment was not even working she acknowledge this stating it wasnt in working order and this equipment stayed not in working order for the rest of my time at Curves. It was on my last day I found out the receptionist was actually the Manager of this Curves as a poster placed on the floor in front of one of the equipment introduced herself as so. It was also at this stage that I was experiencing a lot of pain in my stomach groin area my calves and arm. I thought during the week it was first just soreness from not being used to exercise only the pain was increasing on the last Friday I turned up. I also was told by this Manager that I was using many of the equipment wrong. either I was not using my arms or my legs in the correct position. I also found out that I was jumping off and on the so called mats between the equipments straight onto concrete floor hence causing harm to my feet calves legs etc. This person had watched me do all of these things and never said a thing to stop me from using the equipment wrong or showed any concern about me or anyone else there that was using the recovery mats like step exercise blocks which is what I thought they were. My injuries stopped my from any exercise walking totally disabled me for a month and I am still having problems. I have left my details with the Management and was reasured the Owner would contact me and I have not been contacted. I left a copy of my medical injurys from the doctor with the Manager my phone number have contacted another Curves and spoke on mobile to a Owner who told me he knew the owner of Magill Curves and that he would give her my details also and she would contact me there has been no word nor is there any email phn number for contact to the owner on the Curves internet site for this particular centre. This owner feels the right to take my $184.00 for my use of the centre for 7days and feels that right to keep this money, Total neglect of my being a client of Curves, never full filled any of the promises made in the sales pitch given about instruction, my heart rate was never taken once. I was not given any instruction or care when exercising, I want to know how this person can just take peoples money neglect to give any of what the person pays their money for and get away with not showing and giving any accountability. I am also extremely suspicious of just what training has been done for one to become a instructor at Curves. The manager a young girl whom I thought was the receptionist whom I shared a conversation with on the introductory to Curves day when I asked her if she was a trainer she told me she had done no training but was thinking about it. This is the reason I then assumed she was the receptionist. The state of this centre as in cleanliness was to be questioned the carpet floor looked filthy like no one was ever bothered to even vacuum if one decided to lay on the floor to do any floor exercises you were quick to get up it stank! The maintenance of the equipment and the actual real purpose of them is definitely questionable as when I did ask at one stage whether I was doing a particular exercise correctly as I was always having problems with this the receptionist come Manager was the one to point out to me that the equipment was not working and it was never fixed when I was there, Trying to find out who the owner is and also having anyone acknowledge my concerns and complaints is like finding a needle in a giant haystack. I am very annoyed and frustrated that this owner has not contacted me and also feels it just to keep my monies. I wonder how many others this has happen to? Also what I can do to gain my money back. I did not pay out $184 to be hurt have my time wasted, and also placed in a situation such as this is. I think there should be a official investigation into such companies as there does not seem to be any protection or way that customers can get any real information about these places who the people are that are running them. They are able to get hold of peoples personal information from address to bank details... I would be interested in hearing if anyone else has experienced similar.
