I purchased an Acer Aspire 5100 notebook, from a trusted Australian computer retailer. Everything appeared fine with the notebook, however the battery would not hold a charge longer than half an hour.
I contacted Acer customer service, who told me to drain the battery and recharge 4 or 5 times. This did not work so I contacted them again. Thay told me I would need to send the battery away to be repaired and I could not swap it for a new one.
The battery was faulty when i purchased it and I feel I should be able to swap it for a new one.
