Important documents not delivered

Important documents were sent by fast courier service from Melbourne and have been sitting in transit in SA since 11th November, still undelivered. Item was sent on the 8th November and we were informed should take approx 4 days. Now 10 days and still not delivered. Any idea how we can find out where the delay is and how to overcome this?
