T Mobile MyTouch 3G
Sending of user information

Telecommunications

I recently purchased a T Mobile MyTouch 3G Fender Edition as this model as the Fender version is not available here. I have had the phone working since mid May and just received my first full bill while using this handset. My bill is normally $34 but to my surprise the latest bill is over $260. With some investigation and the help of my service provider it was found the 289 international text messages were sent to the number 453. My service provider has advised me that this is not their number so after some digging I have found that it is a T Mobile short code. So in essence the phone is sending information of it's own volition back to T Mobile, this is part of the pre installed My Favs app that can not be removed from the phone.

I have contacted T Mobile and their agent said that there is not such program in the phone for it to contact T Mobile, this was still denied after I said I could provide evidence of the text messages. While this is a concern for me that I have received an excessive bill it is also a concern that T Mobile handset are calling home. All I want is for T Mobile to either remove the My Fav app or reinstall the software to the standard version but they are treating me like some kind of joke!
