Ripoff fraudulent, bogus checks sent out

I received a letter in the mail saying that I won 125,000 dollars and a check in the mail for $2900.00 to pay the taxes on the money that I won. All I had to do was cash the check and western union it to "Victoria BC in Canada". And in 48 hours I would receive a certified check for my winnings. I the check to my bank and they called the bank that was on the check and they said that it was a fake. The check looked completely legit.
