Serious lack of care from a healthcare service. Had an appointment for a contact lens evaluation today. I was only 5 minutes late due to traffic and when I arrived, I was told that they had let the person whose appointment was after mine go first as they had arrived first. Fuming but understanding, I relented. Knowing that they usually took 30 mins or more to attend to an appointment, I then told them that I would go out and grab a bite first. They told me that they would call me and let me know when to come back. Heading out, I saw a place just 3 shops away (taking me less than a minute to walk) to eat and I got myself some food there. Partly through my meal, they called. I immediately went back, leaving my meal unfinished. Upon arriving there in less than a minute, they had decided to give an eye exam to a walk in customer and I was told to wait even more. I was extremely upset. Having already been bitten twice by them, this time I sat down and waited.

When they let me in, they tried on contact lenses that were entirely unsuitable. To make a comparison, the optician there got me to try on a pair of disposables that he had advised me to bring on my last visit. I put them on and they were infinitely more suitable than the new pair he was promoting. Now before this I was actually wearing a pair of spectacles. There was also a problem with the nose rest on it so I got them to fix it up for me. Normally (and my experience with other optometrists before) I expected such repair to be free, but to my shock found that I had to pay for it. I was only told after they actually fixed up the spectacles. I couldn't tell them to undo it at this point in time as they had already discarded the faulty nose rests already. Well since I was now wearing my disposables (and also bought more from them), I asked if I could get a protective case for my spectacles to keep them. I didn't get it. They just put it in a plastic bag for me and that was it.

And all this time, the girl that served me did not smile, and treated me as if she wanted to get rid of me as soon as possible. At the end of an eye exam or contact lens evaluation, it is only right and proper that I receive my script. These are after all my eyes. However, that same girl refused to print it for me (possibly so that they can retain my return business), but when I pointed out my rights, she reluctantly did it. I will of course pick up the disposables that I ordered from them and that will be the last time I will ever go back there again. And to anyone who reads this, you would be wise not to go there at all.
