Charging above advertised price

I'm a truck driver, on the morning, Monday 26th Oct, I was headed to Camberra and on the way stopped in for a quick bite at the McDonalds at the Sutton Forest Service Center around 30kms north of Goulburn. I looked at the menu board and decided to order the Egg and Sausage McMuffin value meal, which as you may know comes with a hash brown and a small filtered coffee all for $5.35... very nice. Anyway, When I was handed the goodies I was charged $6.40 ? I inquired as to why I was not charged the displayed advertised price and was told it's because their coffee machine had broken down earlier so the small filtered coffee had to be brewed at their McCafe which is all of about 6 paces away. I said... well what's that got to do with me? I don't care if you had to go down to the local 7 Eleven to get my coffee, the price should still be as advertised, ie $5.35. No one seemed to know what on earth I was going on about?... including the Manager! They probably made $1, 000 bucks out of that broken down coffee machine with all the customers they ripped off that day! Anyway, I didn't have time to argue about it and I was pretty hungry, so I paid the extra $1.05 and got the hell out of there. Am I crazy or what? Can a big company like McDonalds do this?
