Another same case happened on Thursday 13th July 06 in Broadway, Sydney at around 6.30 pm.
This guy shout to me from a silver Nissan Maxima car asking help for direction to airport. He asked whether I can speak Italian and his english was pretty bad. He then went on saying he has 3 genuine leather jackets that he can give to me and the actual problem is that he lost his wallet to a girl whom he slept with, need the money to pay the rental car, and about to fly to Italy in 3 hrs.
He claimed to be Louise Rippa, an Italian model working in Armani, is in Sydney for conference, and is the son of Pininfarina (one of Ferrari designer).
He showed his passport, Italian citizenship ID (pink colour), electronic flight ticket, rental car receipt, and even Armani work staff ID !!
He has ALL THE REQUIRED DOCUMENTATIONS and he really seemed genuine and desperately need help. He went very convincing and when asked why cant the famous dad helped him he said he needs the money right away and transfering the money would take another day.
During this incident, the phone kept ringing which he claimed to be his 'father', and I did speak with the father and the brother, ensuring me that they would transfer the money straightaway.
He looks about 25 years old, 175 cm tall, brown hair, slim built, with noticeable freckles.
At the time of the incident, he was wearing denim jacket, pink vest, beige shirt, red converse shoes and a black sling bag.
He also claimed to be Catholic, wore a cross necklace, and swear by God he will pay the money back (what a crap joke)
The car seemed to be rent from Eurocar.
Just because of my stupid good heart, I ended up losing $1500 to this arsehole!
His jackets 'gifts' are RGA Giorgio Armani (replica of Armani), which of course i didnt found out either until i checked this RGA brand and search for 'Rippa' on the internet - it returns all the reports of his successful scams...
