The embedded Windows 8 licence on my HP Envy laptop is not working, so activation requiring Windows activation once you recover by means of recovery discs is not possible - what is the purpose of purchasing expensive software?

Seven times attempting activation with HP Assistant help, has not resolved the problem which I have been experiencing for more than a week trying to get their help.

All I need was my legally purchased Windows 8 product key and activation, all in vain.
