No Compensation for lost luggage

I traveled with my husband and 2 year old son via SQ 218 on the 15 of Dec to Singapore and from there to Bangalore via MI424.Upon arrival in bore we found out that one of our suitcases was missing. This contained all my 2yr old sons clothes, nappies etc. All he had was what he was wearing. We were sent away after being told that the luggage would arrive the next day i.e. 16th morning. We had to go out and buy him clothes on the 15th. No one called us to update us from Silk air during this time. When we called on the 16th they tell us that it has not arrived and will probably come on the 17th. Note we called them to get this update. Customer service is pathetic. We asked for compensation for the fact that we have had to go and get clothes for our 2 yr old along with nappies etc. I have spoken to at least 6 different people at silk air and the only response I have is that we will get back to you. We paid to get on the flight and the service we are getting makes us wonder why we chose this airline. We travel twice every year via Singapore airlines and now seriously considering this for future travel given the pain they are putting us through. I hope the necessary action is taken asap.
