Lutere Pty, Aka Quintab financial scam by betting on horse races

One day someone calls and tells you about some investment opportunity and and after agreeing, they send out their brochure. Shortly thereafter you receive more calls praising the fabulous product how you will definitely make a huge profit and the initial outlay of $3,245 (for one year) will be recovered within the first 3 months (approx). Expected profit for 2003 would have been over $34,000 and whilst they can't guarantee the same figure it would be something very close to it!

Oh, and there's a 'guarantee' that if you don't recover the initial outlay, Lutere will happily refund all of it (but don't hold your breath!).

Now you have paid your 'membership' and setup a racing account with TABCORP.
Every Saturday you can log on to their website and they'll also SMS you with 5 place selections where you have to place your bets. The amount you bet is always 5% of the current balance.

After a few months and the balance only declining and emails from Lutere are not really helping you decide to wait and claim on that guarantee they promised at the end of the 12 months.

When it comes to claiming the guarantee things suddenly become really difficult. Phone calls are not returned, registered post letters never arrive and eventually they bury you in paperwork to ensure you never have a chance of claiming on that guarantee.

Bottom line, you'll loose close to $4000.
