This incident occurred about 2000. I was reading the newspaper one saturday looking for a car, and I decided it was time to buy one (since i've been looking for a while). So I phoned the salesman in the newspaper and asked for an inspection, and they were opened til 1pm that day, so I headed for them before they closed (*mistake no. 1)
A guy who looked and spoke rather honestly showed me round, then went for a drive, etc. Seeing he was so nice, and the car looked good, everything OK, I decided to give in and buy.
It went downhill from then. He asked for 300 dollars deposit as a security, as he mentioned 'car might not be here Monday at this price, etc' I only had 100, so I gave him that and decided to get the rest from EFTPOS machine they had. There was only two - three staff now on the site, and they were working on me. The guy said that 'oh, the machine doesn't work' - not sure if he was tellng the truth, but I somehow believed him, Any way, after about 15-30 mins of talking, I finally got back to my 100 dollars he took *just remembering in time* since I finally realised these people were hell bent to make me forget that I gave 100 dollars first by offsetting the story / focus to the EFTPOS machine. BUT, he said he never received it.
HOW DARE THEY DO THIS.. I GAVE THEM MONEY AND THEY DID NOT
GIVE ME A RECEIPT OR NOTHING! I could not get a receipt at all since I couldn't pay the total. I questioned the other sales guy - he also turned a blind eye.
I ended up buying the car but with the feeling of being 100 dollars missing. Needless to say, three months warranty didn't cover the leaking radiator it had, incorrect tyre sizes for that sort of car, and a radio remote pole which only worked once after I took it home. The spare tyre was also incorrect size.
The guy had the nerve to present to me by mail one of those 'get 100 dollars' voouchers if I recommended a customer to visit their site. HAHAHA .. i just threw it away.
I am totally disgusted by this company and anyone who deals with this company I honestly do not recommend this company for your next purchase by miles.
